Hornsea Project 3

Ørsted (formerly DONG Energy) has commenced further formal consultation on our proposed Hornsea Project Three Offshore Wind Farm development under the Planning Act 2008. This further formal consultation closes at midnight on 22 December 2017.

In considering responses to the first round of Statutory Consultation (27 July to 20 September 2017) and through ongoing design development, Hornsea Three has identified locations where works are now proposed beyond the 200 metre wide onshore cable corridor search area and offshore cable corridor search area previously presented. These can be viewed on their website: http://hornseaproject3.co.uk/en/Further-consultation   or the map reproduced below.

As part of this further formal consultation, they are running a series of briefing and Q&A sessions for the relevant parishes in each local authority. This is to provide people with update on their proposal and to give an opportunity to comment on the new areas presented. At the meeting you will be able to ask members of the Project team questions.

Please find HERE the meeting minutes from the previous Hornsea Project Three South Norfolk Parish Councils Briefing and Q&A Session held on 9th August 2017 at Swardeston Village Hall.

In March 2017, DONG Energy held a second round of community consultation events for the Hornsea Project Three Offshore Wind Farm development. This round of events (Phase 1.B), was introduced following refinement of the original search area to an indicative preferred export cable corridor.

The events were an opportunity for members of the local community to view these plans, speak directly with members of the Project team and comment on proposal at that stage. Attendees were encouraged to capture their thoughts and any concerns by completing one of our feedback forms or by writing directly.

All the feedback received at and after the events has been carefully considered by the Project and will feed into the refinement process. A Phase 1.B Consultation Summary Report (attached HERE) has been produced, which provides a summary of the views expressed at the events and sets out the next steps for the Project. This report also contains information on the different methods by which you can continue to engage in the consultation process and stay informed as the Project evolves.

Over the Summer, they will publish and formally consult on Preliminary Environmental Information Report (PEIR), which will present the findings of initial surveys and assessments and will enable consultees to develop an informed view of the potential environmental effects. There will be further community consultation events in September 2017 to consult and seek feedback on these proposals. Information regarding these events will be available on the website shortly and in the next community newsletter.

All Project documentation is also available to download from www.dongenergy.co.uk/hornseaproject3. Hardcopies of the report will be available for members of the public to view at DONG Community Access Points, which are located across the Consultation Zone (for the full list please see HERE).
