City of Norwich Half Marathon 2019 - email from organisers

I’m writing to confirm that the 34th edition of the City of Norwich Half Marathon will be taking place on Sunday 7 April, starting from the Norfolk Showground at 10.30am.

We expect that up to 2,500 runners will be taking part this year.

The race will follow a single lap route through Easton, Colton, Honingham, Barnham Broom and Marlingford before returning to the Showground via the Family Golf Centre in Easton.

As in recent years, a programme of road closures & diversions will be in place to ensure the safety of the runners during the race.

Each section of the race route will not be closed to traffic until the last possible moment. And each section will then be reopened just as soon as it is clear of runners.

The attached map includes the timings for each section of the road closures & diversions. These timings have been fine tuned in recent years to minimise any delays.

Accredited personnel from our traffic management contractor will supervise and manage the closures at all times and will be on hand to indicate the diversions in place.

In the fortnight before our race we will erect notices around the course to warn local residents of our race and these signs will indicate the expected timings of each road closure.

In addition, on Sunday 31 March we will be deliver by hand a leaflet to every household on the race route to give details of our race and the timings of the road closure programme. This year’s leaflet is currently at the printers but will be almost identical to last year’s which is attached for your information.

The residents of your parish have been very welcoming towards our race over the years and we look forward to their support again this year.

If you are able to include this information in your regular newsletters or bulletins to your parishioners we would be very grateful - thank you in advance.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information.

With many thanks and kind regards
